BART Alignment through Colma, California

Wm Tucker Assoc was hired by M&M Drilling and Shoring Services to work on the BART/Colma extension to S.F. International Airport. Our assignment was to design a temporary wall to protect sensitive concrete and masonry mausoleum structures from movement during construction.

With only five feet between the temporary wall and footings of the cemetery buildings, a proper design solution was critical. Our client had envisioned a drilled secant pile wall, and asked us to execute the design. WTA also coordinated the efforts of the contractor, BART, and the Coalition of Colma Cemeteries to obtain the requisite agency approvals.
